Electronic Engineer with Master degree in Biomedical Engineering
I am Marina, Brazilian but living in Seattle for now. I am passionate about technology and making technology to improve peoples' life. Beyond that I'm also fascinated about design, and how it helps understanding data and interacting with costumers. I've learned design tools as a hobby but now I'm immersing myself into the world of data visualization and I'm still looking through this new possibility.
I had the opportunity to be part of really interesting and innovative projects, all them focusing in bringing new useful technologies with low cost. We succeed in building a new medical device for tumor treatment that is now in a clinical trial. I worked with a team quite interdisciplinary, such as health professionals, biologists, government agencies and entrepreneurs.
After a while we wondered... "We built functional and helpful devices here, why don't we sell them ourselves?" and this was the beginning of the startup called Unite do Care. A startup focused on sharing the technologies we have created on the LaB with patients and costumers.
My abilities include: technical tools (data analysis, design, social media, writing, publishing), mechanical manufacturing, shape-memory alloys, image processing, hardware development and technical standards for electronic medical devices.
My greatest interest is to improve technologies to solve real problems. I am always looking for opportunities to make it real.
Here are some of the projects I had the opportunity to participate.
Jul-2017 to Mar-2018
The main focus of this startup B2B consists in bringing technology to the daily life of healthcare professionals.

Jul 2015 - Oct 2017
Development and construction of active device for hepatic radiofrequency ablation.
Dec 2014 - Jun 2015
Development of a GUI in Matlab for semi-automatic measurement and localization of hepatic tumors in medical images.
Mar 2014 - Nov 2014
Development of a computer program in Matlab for monitoring subjects with wounds in lower members.
Jul 2013 - Jul 2014
Collaborated on development of a PID closed-loop elbow joint control using Functional Electrical Stimulation.
